Nokia unveiled Lumia 800 and 710 as its first Windows phones on Wednesday. This is a big challenge for Nokia as they struggle to regain their top position in smartphone market.
Lumia 800 runs Windows Phone Mango. As you can see the picture above it reminds me of Nokia N9. The design looks cool and feels great in hand. It will be available in black, cyan, and magenta. The screen measures 3.7 inches and have AMOLED display. It looks nice and worked well even in bright natural lighting but doesn’t match the quality of Samsung’s super AMOLED plus displays.
Overall, Lumia 800 looks much better and usable now with Windows Phone OS than Symbian OS. It has a 1.4-GHz single-core processor, 16GB of internal storage and an 8-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture. The Carl Zeiss lenses takes some awesome pictures and you will have a real button on a side to shoot pictures.
Lumia 710 is somewhat stripped down version of Lumia 800 but its less expensive. It do not have feel and polish of Lumia 800 but the approximate cost would be $99. Now that’s affordable to most of the customers and if you see the hardware, I think its worth to go for this handset. So, the hardware includes a 3.7-inch screen and 1.4-GHz CPU, but it offers less storage with 8GB and a 5-megapixel camera. Battery is smaller and survives for lesser talk time. Back covers are interchangeable and you can buy more cover online for your favorite color.
So, both, Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 provides great options to the buyers according to their needs. Windows Phone is certainly a good choice compared to Symbian phones. Checkout the gallery to get few more glimpses of both Lumias.
